Singapore Noodles at Jade Kingdom
This is definitely on the shortlist for my last meal. Growing up, Singapore noodles from Jade Kingdom in Heidelberg Heights was my all-time favourite take-away. Whenever I’ve lived overseas it’s been one of the things I miss about home. Singapore noodles from anywhere else seldom compare. The closest I’ve come is the Bee Hoon at Cafe Asean in West Village, NYC. A delicious dish in its own right, I suppose it lacks the sentimental attachment I hold for Jade KIngdom. There is no doubt it contains at least a day of my recommended calorie intake, but once in a blue moon with a glass of shiraz, it’s heaven. I’ll go to the gym “tomorrow”.
