The north-eastern suburb of Rosanna where I grew up has come a long way from the coffee wasteland I considered it to be in my adolescence and uni days. Cementing its status as a ‘burb with a good brew is Miss Marie, which opened last year. Its interior design is reminiscent of a trendy Carlton cafe, but comes refreshingly without the hipsters and pretense. The coffee is 5 senses, which I mentioned in my last post—it seems whenever I come across really good coffee lately, it’s 5 senses. I’ve only eaten here once, but the seared calamari salad I had was interesting and yum. A bite of my sister’s eggs benedict indicated they know how to make a quality hollandaise sauce too.
